What are the benefits to scheduling a paid consultation on PA family law topics?

 With a paid consultation, our office is able to discuss the specific facts of your case including the different strategies for male and female clients; the likely results in any future divorce, equitable distribution, child support, spousal support, child custody or other case and the impact of certain situations including adultery, use of drugs or alcohol, or other indiscretions on the part of either family court litigant.  In certain circumstances, it is not the best course of action to immediately separate from the other spouse or parent or to file a divorce or custody action.  A paid consultation will allow a potential client to better understand whether or not they should proceed with their intended course of action.  When attending a paid consultation, the individual should bring with them the following paperwork:

  • Any papers that have previously been filed with the court which might include a divorce complaint, protection from abuse, complaint, support complaint, custody complaint, or otherwise;
  • Any prior orders of court or written agreements that have been entered in the family law case;
  • Federal and state tax returns for the previous year if divorce or support is at issue;
  • The most recent pay stub or other current proof of income for each party if divorce or support is at issue;
  • If married, a summary of the assets and debt acquired by either spouse from date of marriage through date of separation;
  • Any executed prenuptial, postnuptial, or other agreements;
  • Any proposal for settlement that has been or that you wish to be made;
  • A list of any specific questions you wish to have answered at the appointment.

Another benefit to a paid consultation is that all matters discussed are completely confidential and protected by the attorney-client privilege.  At no time in the future would our office be permitted to consult with or represent the opposing party in a family law matter or to divulge your confidential information to anyone.

Our office conducts appointments in our Allegheny County offices located in downtown Pittsburgh and in Whitehall borough and in our Butler County office located in Cranberry Township.  In some circumstances, telephone appointments are available.  Our office accepts Pennsylvania family law cases including divorce, equitable distribution, spousal support, alimony pendente lite, alimony, paternity and child support matters, child custody cases, juvenile law cases, and related matters in Allegheny County (Pittsburgh), Beaver County, Butler County, Washington County, and Westmoreland County (Greensburg).  Our law firm accepts Pennsylvania family law cases from other Western Pennsylvania counties including Armstrong County (Kittanning) Clarion County, Fayette County, Greene County, Indiana County, Lawrence County, Mercer County, Somerset County, and Venango County on a case-by-case basis. To schedule a consultation, click here
